Fun With Hashtags

Well hello there friends!I have this friend who says “Kelly, inside my head is a circus. Sometimes other people can hear the music too.”

Right now I’m going to share some of the circus in my head with you.

Long long ago, we would play “games” on Twitter using hashtags. Like replacing one word in a movie title with “bacon” or first draft band names (Velvet Underpants, Deep Fuchsia), and they are really fun because my mind runs about a jillion miles an hour most of the time and I can riff on something like this all the livelong day.

Well thanks to Timehop I discovered this list of #tolkienpop that I did four years ago (today!) so I’m posting them here because most of them made me laugh all over again today.

– I Touch My Elf (DiVinyls)
– Fly On An Eagle (Steve Miller Band!)
– Sgt Baggins Lonely Ents Club Band (The Beatles)
– Meat Is Mordor (The Smiths)
– Friday I’m In Lothlorien (The Cure)
– Bombadil The Bass (Actually the band name, Bomb The Bass)
– The Sun Always Shines On Sam Gamgee (a-ha)
– Papa’s Got A Brand New Ring (James Brown)
– Moria Dreamin (on such a winter’s dayyyy) (Mamas & The Papas)
– Beleriand Bop (Ramones)
– Roll Over Mithrandir (Chuck Berry)
– Roll Over Bombadil (Chuck Berry)
– Good Golly Mithrandir (Little Richard)
– Merry Merry (The Monkees)
– Knockin On Rivendell’s Door (Bob Dylan)
– Forlond Prison Blues (Johnny Cash)
– Westfarthing Lineman (Glenn Campbell)
– Try A Little Enterness (Otis Redding)
– The Night They Drove Old Wormtongue Down (The Band)
– Say It Loud (I’m Dwarf And I’m Proud) (James Brown)
– Pippin Is A Punk Rocker (Ramones)
– Subterranean Homesick Blues (Bob Dylan) (See what I did there?)

See? ALL DAY LONG. And I did! Those are all throughout September 10, 2009. And now you get to enjoy them too. Leave your contributions in the comments. (:
